Honolulu (AP) – Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden has won the party’s primary in Hawaii. Former United States Vice President Biden received 63 percent of the vote in Saturday’s election. His opponent, Bernie Sanders, received only 37 percent of the vote. The election was delayed by more than a month due to the Corona epidemic.
Voting was by post. The election was won by 16 Biden-backed delegates. Sanders, on the other hand, won eight delegates.
Based on the results so far, Biden has received 1,566 delegates. He needs a total of 1,991 delegates to run for the presidency from the Democratic Party. It is expected to be acquired by next month. President Donald Trump’s candidacy from the Republican Party is being considered.
