Chinese ambassador dies in Israel

The Chinese ambassador to Israel has died. He was found dead in his home. The information was shared by the Israeli Foreign Ministry. However, the cause of death of the ambassador could not be ascertained at present. Significantly, the ambassador’s death comes just two days after he criticized US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Israeli police are investigating. Du Wei, 58, was appointed ambassador in February during the corona virus epidemic. He had earlier served as China’s ambassador to Ukraine. He is survived by his wife and a son who were not in Israel.

Wei condemned Pompeo’s remarks during a visit by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who died two days later. Pompeo is said to have condemned Chinese investment in Israel and accused China of withholding information about the corona virus outbreak.
