In three days Ferozepur district reported 452 negative cases, sampling count reaches 1453: Deputy Commissioner

In a major sigh of relief to the district, a total of 1028 persons were tested negative so far out of which 452 negative cases have been reported only in the last three days.

Divulging more, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Mr. Kulwant Singh said that with the intensified sampling drive as of now, samples of 1453 persons have been taken and sent to the laboratory for Covid-19 tests.

The deputy commissioner said that so far 1028 persons have been tested negative out of which 452 were tested negative in the last three days adding he said that on May 5, 2020, about 576 negative cases were reported in the district which faced an upsurge with 452 negative cases taking count of negative cases to 1028 on May 8, 2020.

Mr. Kulwant Singh said that the 379 samples were pending with the laboratories by now. A total of 44 confirmed Corona cases were reported in the district out of which 42 cases are active and patients are taking the best of the treatment at the civil hospital, said the deputy commissioner.

Notably, one of the patients died during treatment at Faridkot Medical College, whereas another patient Constable Paramjot Singh was cured and therefore discharged from the hospital, added the DC.

Civil Surgeon Ferozepur Dr. Navdeep Singh said that the health department was committed to providing utmost care to all the positive patients. He further added that the day-to-day monitoring of positive patients under treatment was being carried out by medical experts as most of the patients were improving every day. Dr. Navdeep Singh said that the health department would leave no stone unturned to provide the best of the treatment to the suffering patients during this hour of crisis.
