Dubai: An Indian employee of a mining company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bajkishore Gupta, found it costly to make objectionable remarks on social media. Gupta was fired for making objectionable remarks against people of a particular religion. This has been confirmed by Jean-Francois Milin, manager of the Steven Rock Company, a mining firm based in Ras Al Khaimah.

Bijkishore, who hails from Bihar, had made objectionable remarks on Indian Muslims on Facebook, calling them spread corona infections. In another post, he termed the communal riots in Delhi this year as God’s justice. According to local media reports, Milin said the decision was taken following a directive issued by the UAE government. Three other Indian workers who posted similar posts on social media in the UAE earlier this month also lost their jobs.
